Boys volleyball will have varisty status in the fall of 2024!

FCPS Superintendent Dr Reid includes boys volleyball and girls wrestling in the FY2025 budget!

On Feb 8, at a regularly scheduled FCPS school board, meeting Superintendent Dr. Reid presented the proposed budget for the 2025 fiscal year and it includes boys volleyball!    See slide 10 on https://www.fcps.edu/sites/default/files/media/pdf/FY-2025-Proposed-Budget-Presentation.pdf.  The entire list of budget documents, including the budget adoption timeline, is available at https://www.fcps.edu/budget/budget-documents.  This is a huge win for boys volleyball and for FCPS high school sports in general as girls wrestling was also added!

While this is amazing news, the fight is not quite over!  The budget process does have a period built in for adjustments and while it is unlikely the sports could be pulled, it is possible.  That means we need to ping our elected school board representatives and the board of supervisors to let them know that the community wants this and supports it so it is not dropped from the final budget.

For school board contacts see this sheet that has been put together with information on what schools are covered for each district.  Please write to the at-large reps and your appropriate school rep to let them know.

Information for the board of supervisors is available here: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/boardofsupervisors/

Interest In Coaching FCPS Varsity Boys Volleyball

We are working with the FCPS Activities office to help find coaches for the upcoming season.  If you are interested in possibly coaching please fill out this survey and we will make sure the school system can get in touch with you.  This is NOT a commitment and either you or the school may decide it is not the right fit based on any number of circumstances.

The school system is looking to start filling out coaching positions soon and start green days during the spring season.

We will be working with local college coaches to provide training prior to the upcoming season so don't let a lack of experience dissuade you!  If you have the time, enthusiasm and energy put your name in the hat!
