There are three opportunities for Elementary School (ES) and Middle School (MS) boys to play organized volleyball:
The Northern Virginia (NoVA) Boys Volleyball League was started in fall 2016 as a regional competitive program for Elementary School boys (grades 4th-6th) and Middle School boys (grades 6th-8th). The league has teams from several different youth volleyball organizations across Fairfax and Arlington (VA) counties. Teams are registered and coached within their own organization and play competitive matches against each other on weekends. The season runs from mid-September thru mid-November.
The league commitment is 1-2 team practices during the week (~90 min each) and 1-2 matches (60 min each) on Saturdays. The league follows a modified set of USA Volleyball rules.
During the inaugural fall 2016 season, NoVA Boys Volleyball had 14 teams and 140 boys. The fall 2020 season had 13 teams and 140 boys.
